Terramycin (Tetracycline) Canada

Buy Terramycin Online

Terramycin is antimicrobial drug from the group of tetracycline. The main active ingredient of Terramycin is Oxytetracycline, an antibiotic of the broad spectrum action.

Terramycin shows bacteriostatic action as to microbes. The mechanism of the action is conditioned by the introduction of the active ingredients into the cellular structure of bacteria and destruction of their peptide and aminoacid chains. As a result, there is blocking of synthesis of protein in the bacteria cells due to which they stop growing and developing.

Tetracycline does not kill microbes, but stops the development of infection, and current bacteria die under the action of the protective functions of the body. Terramycin is effective in the treatment of infections caused by bacteria having resistance to penicillin and streptocid. The causative agents such as Vibrio cholerae, Brucella, Chlamydia, Treponema, Staphylococcus spp, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae are especially sensitive to Tetracycline. However, there are bacteria which are resistant to the action of Terramycin: yeast fungus, botulinus and poliomyelitis.

The Terramycin dosage may be used in the process of the treatment depending on the type of infection and tolerance of the antibiotic. An individual approach to the treatment is needed for each clinical case:

- The standard daily dose of Terramycin for adult patients is 1-2 g (4 pills of Tetracycline 250 mg)

- The everyday dose for adults is divided into 3-4 times, 1 pill of Terramycin 250 mg before meals

- Terramycin 250 mg should be taken with enough water and enough amount of water should be used within a day.

- Children are prescribed an individual dose depending on the age and body weight.

The treatment with Terramycin antibiotic should be prolonged: from 5 to 14 days. It does not give a fast effect but destroys pathogenic microorganisms in all tissues and organs, and therefore the therapeutic effect is more stable.

The duration of Tetracycline consumption is 30 days in the treatment of syphilis.

Tetracycline can be used only if the patient has not contraindications for the use: pregnancy, lactation, allergy to tetracycline antibiotics, and pediatric use under 8 years old.

In the rest cases, Terramycin is not contraindicated but the dosage restrictions or frequency of the use may be. For example, senior people with dysfunction of kidneys or liver should take minimal doses.

Directions for the use

Terramycin is used for the treatment of the inflammatory diseases of the infectious origin such as:

- Infectious affections of the respiratory system organs: abscess of lungs, pneumonia

- Cystitis, urethritis, gonorrhea

- Meningitis

- Otitis, scarlet fever

- Camp fever

- Endocarditis

- Trachoma

- Surgical sepsis

Before starting the antibacterial therapy it is necessary to make sure that the infection is caused by microorganisms sensitive to Oxytetracycline, and the treatment will be effective.

Side Effects

Nausea, vomiting, headache, diarrhea, stomachache, high arterial pressure, edema, light sleep are the side effects of Tetracycline which may appear in the first days of the drug use.

To avoid these side effects it is necessary to start the treatment from the minimal doses of Terramycin, and to take the pills strictly according to the instruction. The side effects run their course within 2-4 days.

If the side effects do not disappear, and bother the patient, and there are signs of the allergic reaction, the use of Terramycin should be temporarily terminated, and a medical specialist help is needed.
