Imitrex is a pain relief tablet which targets nerves and blood vessels. Sumatriptant succinate is an important content of this Imitrex pain relief tablet. They can be designated chemically by the following chemical names 3-[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl]-N-methyl-indole-5-methanesulfonamide succinate (1:1). Its molecular weight is 413.5 and they can be represented in its empirical formula as C14H21N3O2S•C4H6O4. Sumatriptan succinate is available in powder like which are easily dissolved in water. Each Imitrex tablet contains 35, 70, or 140 mg of sumatriptan succinate which are equivalent to 25, 50, or 100 mg of sumatriptan, respectively. Recommendations
Imitrex tablets are consumed along with the water. Doctor’s advices are always necessary and follow the dosage procedures. As soon as you feel the pain, that is when you feel like headache, swallow this Imitrex tablet immediately. The pain will be relieved within 2 hours. Some people will find a better result even after 30 minutes. If the pain is not relieved even after 2 hours, then doctor consults are to be taken.
Precautions
Similarly, if any difference occurs after 2 hours or again if pain comes back, it is the time to take another tablet. So, the minimum time gap must be two hours on each dose. Do not overdose in which only 200mg is recommended per day. Consult with your doctor at regular intervals.
