Hand Infections

Acute pyogenic (frank pus formation) infection of deep spaces of the hand, tendon sheaths or bone and joints. Chronic granulomatous like tuberculosis and Fungal infections affect tendon sheaths, palmar spaces, bone and joints and nails. Terminal infections in the fingers: Felon, Paronychia and Apical infection follow trivial injuries and deserve swift attention. Neglected and improper management of hand injuries can move on to devastating infections that compromise hand function.
